Announcing The Plum Inn – the new pub from ADS

Guess what! We’re opening a pub. Here’s the low-down.
It’s been a long time coming but we’re finally ready to announce our exciting new venture – The Plum Inn. Located close to our headquarters in Landore, The Plum Inn will have its own microbrewery and will be plumbing themed throughout.
Visitors will be able to sit on bar stools made from repurposed toilets, relax in bathroom-tiled lounges and enjoy home-cooked food served by staff in plumbing overalls.
The menu will be ambitious and will have a strong plumbing theme, with nibbles served on reclaimed bathroom tiles and many main dishes brought to the table in toolboxes, bringing an element of theatre to proceedings.
Your meal could begin with Nuts and Bolts (spiced peanuts and crunchy home-made biscuit bolts), or the Kitchen Plunger (onion rings served on an upturned plunger), followed by U Bend – a curved artisan sausage – or Copper Piping – a showstopping, supersized sharing kebab made with premium lamb steaks cooked on copper piping and finished with a hot chimichurri sauce. Our signature dessert will be a crème brûlée finished at the table with a plumber’s blowtorch.
Our wonderful brewers at The Plum Inn Brewery have created four great beers for our guests’ delight:
Monkey Wrench
A classic IPA with pleasant metallic notes achieved by the immersion of a monkey wrench an old brass water storage tank.
Hack Saw
A powerful white beer that will cut through any hangover.
Wastewater
A great session ale with notes of gooseberry and grapefruit and plenty of froth.
Hot Water tap
A fiery beer brewed with a touch of chilli, which will be dispensed from a tap at the bar.
Other special features will include a weekly plumbing-themed quiz where winners will receive a free plumbing health check, and a “try before you buy” toilet showroom which doubles as the pub toilets.
Dogs are welcome and we’ve provided a small outside power shower so you can hose them down after muddy walks along the River Tawe.
Our founder Andrew D’Auria said:
“I’ve long had an ambition to open a pub and it’s wonderful that The Plumb Inn is nearly ready to launch. In creating the inn, we wanted to come up with something that reflected my dual passions for plumbing and home-brewed beer. It’s been great fun coming up with the drinks, the menu and the interior – and we’ve saved a lot of money by using items we had lying around after jobs.
“The Plum Inn will be a unique drinking and dining experience. I hope that it will make people smile and maybe inspire some of our customers to consider a career in plumbing. We’re going to be announcing The Plumb Inn’s precise location and opening date soon, so stay tuned for more news.”
