We now have a strong and growing team operating out of Cwmbran, providing gas, electrical and building work across the Valleys and beyond. Read all about them here.
We’re delighted to have expanded our operations with the introduction of a new base in Cwmbran. This enables us to reach clients far beyond the area served by our Swansea headquarters: we are now working widely in the Valleys, Cardiff, Newport, and across the border in England.
Our Cwmbran operation started last year, led by Suzanne Powell, a qualified gas engineer with many years’ experience in management roles within the housing sector. She was soon joined by electrical supervisor Lee Welsher, another highly experienced team member who has spent years working in contracts management and supervisory roles. Since then, the team has expanded significantly, to include gas engineer Lisa Sheppard, tenant liaison officer Laurie Cousins, who has a strong background in facilities and project management, gas engineer Rhys Pullin, and electrical engineer Lloyd Maggs, who is our electrical testing specialist. The team has further been bolstered by the arrival of Jamie Thomas, an apprentice gas engineer, and Paige Squire, an electrical apprentice.
Our presence in Cwmbran began when we won a major electrical contract with social housing provider Pobl, but we quickly discovered there was broader demand for our services in the area. As a result, the services delivered from our Cwmbran base now encompass electrical, gas and building services for public sector, commercial and domestic clients.
We’re very proud to have a significant number of highly skilled women on the team – and having Suzanne, a qualified gas engineer, heading up our Cwmbran operations means customers get to deal with someone who fully understands the work we do and can provide valuable advice over the phone. Our clients tell us they love the friendly, professional service they receive from Suzanne and her team, and as a result we’ve won lots of ongoing business.
Suzanne says of her work:

Meet our Cwmbran team!
Suzanne – Have worked in the heating industry since Suzanne was 10 years old. Completed a 5-year plumbing and heating apprenticeship from 1977 – 1982. Since then, worked for the council and housing associations as a maintenance officer and Housing officer. Suzanne have had a varied career within the industry over the last 50 years and now managing our Cwmbran office serving the local community for plumbing heating and electrical needs.
Lee – Has been in the industry over 20 years working as an electrician, then moved on to supervisory roles and have continued with this type of role since. In May 2021 Lee had the opportunity to work with ADS in a new role at the Cwmbran Office. “During my time here I have had the role of advising and organising the rewire teams for the electrical contract ADS have with Pobl”.
Lloyd – Joined ADS September 2020, based at the Cwmbran office. 7 years on the tools, qualified in 2018.
Lisa – Joined ADS in May 2021, based at the Cwmbran office. With 5.5 years on the tools, qualified in 2020.
Rhys – Joined ADS in January 2022, based at the Cwmbran office. 5.5 years on the tools, qualified in 2020.
Jamie – Joined ADS in November 2021, based at the Cwmbran office. Jamie will have completed NVQ level 2 plumbing this year and starting level 3 alongside gas.
